Movies and Specials (1977-1990)
Oh, man. It's time. For the one. The only. Muppet. Movie. Jim and the gang take their lunacy to the big screen and The Muppets out into the real world. Will Kermit and his friends escape the evil machinations of Colonel Sanders wannabe Doc Hopper? Probably. It is their movie, after all.
You'll believe a bear can drive.
We’re back for Christmas in MAY! Season 2 of A Feat of Lunatic Daring starts off with a bang (Did somebody say BANG?), breaking down the timeless Muppet holiday classic: “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas”. Nick has never seen it. Chad has lost count of how many times he has. 1,977 years in the making, this one goes deep, real deep, then we ask “It ever okay to put a hole in your mom’s washtub?” “What IS half of fifty cents?” And “Which haughty members of Waterville voted for the METAL BAND over the nicest folks on the River?”
The Muppet Show - Season 4 (1979-1980)
Well, last week was Luke Skywalker and Superman, and this week is Wonder Woman and... that guy from Little Miss Sunshine. Okay, we can't all be superheroes, but special guest stars Lynda Carter and Alan Arkin bring their own kind of special to this episode's installments of The Muppet Show. These are a couple of good ones, folks, I swear by this golden lasso wrapped around my waist!
It's Childhood Heroes week on this episode of Lunatic Daring as The Muppet Show welcomes The Stars of Star Wars (featuring Mark Hamill) and the Man of Steel himself, Christopher Reeve! Get ready for the return of Dearth Nadir and a full-frontal assault by the horniest pig in show business.

A Feat of Lunatic Daring returns (a little late) with Season 4 of The Muppet Show! Our special guest stars are country crossover crooners John Denver and Crystal Gayle. The Muppets go to war , Kermit goes au naturel, and... there goes a prairie dog will my wallet! Somebody stop that little rodent!
The Muppet Show - Season 3 (1977-1978)
Holy moly it's already time to wrap up A Feat of Lunatic Daring Season 3! Chad and Nick sit down to discuss the season behind them, unveiling their Top 5 Top 5 lists and picking their favorite thing that they watched over the past 24 episodes. Did Stallone punch his way into our hearts? What was up with Gladys? Why, again, is Kermit wearing a freaking swim cap? And how many spots will Harry Belafonte take up? Answer: more than one. DAY-O!
Season 3 of The Muppet Show comes to a merry ole' end with actress Lynn Redgrave and a genuine angel, Cheryl Ladd! Piggy pulls a Nomi, Kermit takes a beating, and Gonzo's into some real weird-- No. We don't kink shame around here, okay?
This Muppet show is going country again with special guest stars Roger Miller, Roy Rogers & Gene Evans. Chickens! Cows! Hideously malformed infants! This one has it all!
A couple of good ones this week, with German bombshell Ekle Sommer and the Italian Stallion himself, Sylvester Stallone! Link takes a giant leap, Kermit fights off some groupies, and good Lord man whose idea was it to give Beaker a chainsaw? He's had enough, and he's out for blood!
Okay. Rough week. The Spike Milligan episode of The Muppet Show is kinda racist and we’re not gonna pull punches on this one, folks. It’s real bad. Singer Leslie Uggams’ appearance comes across better, but any episode looks great compared to the problematic minefield that is the Muppets’ salute to internationality. Lack of International Understanding, indeed. Oh, and Big Bird shows up too.
It’s another great week on Lunatic Daring with the one-two punch of actor Lesley Anne Warren and Hollywood legend Danny Kaye! Gonzo lifts off, Statler and Waldorf sit out, and did we just learn something very personal about Link Hogthrob?
THE. GREATEST. MUPPLESHOCKS. EPISODE. EVER. This week’s spegical guest stap is living legend and King of Calypso Harry Belafonte! This episode is so good, and so important, and so… everything, we had to give it its own show. So enjoy, ladies and genkelfens.
ARE YOU READY for very special guest star Helen Reddy? Heads will roll! A camel will dance! And damn that Beauregard is a real dummy, huh?
Oh boy. The Muppet Show is joined this week by special guest stars international sex goddess Raquel Welch and veteran character actor James Coco. Piggy's all woman, Robin's all wet, and Fozzie's all hot and-- I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FAMILY SHOW!!!
This week on Lunatic Daring, we have the monosyllabic maestro Liberace and actress Marisa Berenson! The Chef’s got a problem, Piggy’s got a plan, and who is that kid tied up in Marisa’s basement? I’m sorry. What?
The Muppet Show - Season 2 (1977-1978)
Season Two is in the books! Listen as Chad and Nick break down their Five Top 5's for the The Muppet Show's sophomore year. What were their favorite songs? Their biggest laughs? Will these two very basic men yet again pick a woman they love as the best guest star? Very likely.
The Muppet Show's second season wraps up with a couple o' good'uns. Minister of Silly Walks John Cleese and 8-time Emmy winner Cloris Leachman. Gonzo stretches himself too thin, Piggy walks a fine line, and the pigs take over the show. ¡VIVA LA REVOLUCIÓN!
This week The Muppet Show welcomes special guest stars Bob Hope and Teresa Brewer! Beaker gets eaten, Animal gets wild, and... Gonna be honest here. We don't have many kind things to say about #222. Because it is not a kind episode. It’s mean and not okay. You've been warned.
This week we're talking about comedy legend Peter Sellers and international recording artist Petula Clark! Link gets a massage, Kermit gets real tired of puns, and The #MuppetShow is invaded by a damn Skeksis! I was not emotionally prepared for that. TRIAL BY STONE!
There are icons and then there are Icons. But there is only one Julie Andrews. And she's on The Muppet Show this week, along with singer and actor Jaye P. Morgan. Beaker blows his top, Harry blows up the guest star, and what in the Sam Hill are we going to do with this beautiful bovine hanging around here?
This week The Mupppet Show gets some soul with special guest stars Lou Rawls and Cleo Laine! Fozzie's on a roll, Zoot's on... something, and Link sings to a live piglet and God can we PLEASE stop with the live animals on the show??? (Checks notes for next week.) Guess not.
A couple of heavy hitters this week: ballet great Rudolf Nureyev and "the greatest talent in the history of the universe," (according to Scooter) Sir Elton John! Piggy gets inappropriate, The Chef gets homicidal, and, man, Sam the Eagle really hates hippies. Raise your hand if you are actually shocked by that.
Couple of great Muppet Show guests on this week’s episode: Pizza the Hutt himself Dom DeLouise and Broadway star Bernadette peters. Piggy has a plan, Robin has a dream, and Kermit has… absolutely no respect for monogamy. Man, the Ladies sure do Love Cool K.
Listen, you’re just going to have to bear with us this week. We are two men who are unabashedly smitten with Miss Madeline Kahn and will not bother to hide it. George Burns is pretty great, too. The frog tap dances, Scooter spills the beans, and, hell, forget it already… Did I mention MADELINE KAHN?
This week The Muppet Show is visited by a real dummy and a total jerk. Ventriloquist Edgar Bergen and renaissance man Steve Martin are our very special guests. Piggy chops some wood, Gonzo gets cheesy, and I'm sorry did Fozzie just create life? ALL BOW DOWN TO OUR BEAR AND SAVIOR!
This week on A Feat of Lunatic Daring, the #MuppetShow is visited by singer/songwriter Judy Collins and funnywoman Nancy Walker. Scooter's uncle drops in, Kermit calls out, and Sam gets his feathers all ruffled when talking about nudity. Methinks the eagle doth protest too much.
Season Two rolls on with Mr. Television himself, Milton Berle, and the man of a thousand (mediocre) voices, Rich Little. Piggy shakes her moneymaker, Gonzo turns out to be a leg man, and the debut of PIIIIIIIIGS IN SPAAAAAAAAAACE!!!
Season Two of The Muppet Show begins with a couple of big guests with big personalities: TV Star Don Knotts and the incomparable Zero Mostel! Fozzie loses his cool, Sam loses his patience, and Kermit-- I’m sorry. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS GINGERBREAD MAN NUMBER? WHY, JIM, WHY? WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO US?
The Muppet Show - Season 1 (1976-1977)
Hey, a Season Finale! We wrap up our first season with a look back on all we’ve watched thus far, break out a few “best of” lists, and pour one out for for a few Muppets that are leaving us. Can you guess who our favorite guest star is? Can you? Probably.
The final two episodes of The Muppet Show's first season guest star stage and screen star Kaye Ballard and the unique performance artists known as The Mummenschanz! Floyd channels his inner Hugo Chavez, Gonzo goes hog wild, and The Mummenschanz do... whatever it is they do. I can't really explain it but golly it's neat.
Model/Singer/Actress/Soul Sister Twiggy and grand dame of the stage Ethel Merman are this week’s very special guest stars. Piggy busts out her chops, Fozzie’s agent sells himself short, and who, or what, is the PHANTOM OF THE MUPPET THEATER?
This week’s guest stars are master of the macabre Vincent Price and TV legend Valerie Harper! Kermit shows his teeth, Statler shows some growth, and Sam shows his— WHAT DID HE JUST SAY? I thought this was a family show!
This Thursday's episode features guest stars Candice Bergen and Avery Schreiber! Piggy finally gets to open the show, Kermit feels a little bit greener than usual, and WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE STAFF AT VETERINARIAN'S HOSTPITAL?

This week's guest stars are Florence Henderson, a lovely lady who once raised three very lovely girls, and Paul Williams, who, a couple years later, would write the "The Rainbow Connection". So you know that's gonna be cool. Come for the Brady, stay for the music, and discover the dark secret behind the old Telephone Pole bit
Well, Goll-eeee. EGOT winner Rita Moreno and Andy Griffith Show star Jim Nabors area this week’s very special guest stars. The boys may have a giant crush on one of them. We’ll let you guess which
Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome…. Im The Muppet Show, Au The Muppet Show, to The Muppet Show… with very special guest stars Joel Gray and Ruth Buzzi!
Here it is. Time to lift the curtains. It's time to light the lights. It's time to get things started (finally) with The Muppet Show tonight and very special guest stars Juliet Prowse and Connie Stevens! Don’t worry. Chad and Nick didn’t know much about them either.
The Early Years (1936-1975)
